We’re so excited for Africa Day! Today is a great day to celebrate our continent’s rich and diverse history, culture, and future.
But it’s also a good time to think about transportation. The world’s second-largest continent is home to over 1 billion people, and all of them need to get around somehow. While the road network in Africa has expanded significantly in recent years, most Africans still rely on public transportation to get around their cities and towns—and even across countries.
Here are some facts and figures about transportation in Africa:
